THIS WEEK’S FEATURE PRESENTERMichael Carmel

Chef Michael Carmel from the Culinary Institute of Charleston will present on “The Shifting Paradigm for New Student Learning.”

Through these unprecedented times educator have had to shift their modes of teaching to encourage student learning. Although technology plays an integral part in the learning process, it does not always translate to better alignment of core objectives or positive success rates.

This seminar will offer creative ideas to better align course objectives, lesson plans and assessment tools through the use of technology in order to achieve better student success.

A SHOUT OUT FROM A FOODSERVICE EDUCATOR WHO WANTS TO KNOW ...

HI Mary,
Hope you are well and avoiding all the Covid mess. I am so excited about attending the combined Deans and Directors and Leadership Conference in Portland this June. It will be so nice to see everyone again. I was curious whether you or any other staff or attendee had any interest in driving to Freedom, ME to eat at the Lost Kitchen featured in a show by the same name on the Magnolia Network. In looking at a map, it appears to be around 85 miles north of Portland, perhaps a few hours drive. The restaurant does a lottery system for seats, so we may not “win”, but I would like to try. Any thoughts?

Kind regards,
