CAFÉ Update October 30, 2023
30 October 2023
Do you agree with that statement?
CAFÉ has three goals:
- Link the foodservice industry with the foodservice classroom
- Help chefs become better teachers
- Help teachers become better chefs
We try to accomplish these goals by providing foodservice instructors and leaders with
- A website full of industry resources
- An e-zine with current information and voices both of educators as well as industry professionals
- Events that bring you together to learn from each other
- Podcasts which are voices from the wide community of foodservice as well as the business world associated with what you are training students for
- A YouTube Channel with short, industry clips
- An Awards program which recognizes what you have implemented in your program as well as your individual accomplishments
Let us know what you need and what you might want to share in one of our outreach activities. Teachers are in a constant learning mode and we want to be there to help them!

ATTENTION TEXAS TEACHERS
7th Annual HEAT Professional Development Conference
November 12 - 15, 2023
University of Houston Hilton
HEAT members include educators from culinary, hospitality, and tourism from both secondary and post-secondary institutions. The teachers come for professional education, networking and to learn about new resources they can use for their students. The HEAT Professional Development Conference brings together local Texas high school teachers, along with representatives from colleges/universities and businesses that support the industry. In addition, teachers can earn Continuing Ed credits at the conference. We have a number of great sessions offered.
