Goya Foods is offering four scholarships of up to $20,000 each to students entering their freshman year in a two- or four-year accredited college working toward a degree in culinary arts and/or food science.
The Goya Foods Culinary Arts Scholarship is available on a competitive basis to students planning to enroll as freshman during the 2022-2023 academic year in a culinary arts or food sciences area of study. Four awards of $5,000 each will be granted every year and are renewable for up to three years, or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. The maximum scholarship award of $20,000 per student will be provided if the recipient remains eligible to receive funding.
Since the inception of the Goya Scholarship Fund in 2011, the company has granted over $1.6 million in scholarships to students nationwide as well as the sons and daughters of Goya employees. The company believes every student should have the opportunity and access to education.
The application deadline is March 21, 2022. The program will use Scholarship America® recipient selection criteria including the consideration of financial need, academic performance, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of career and educational goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal.
